I picked up a camera for the first time on a trip to Japan in college, and something about that experience- the light, the quiet moments, the way a photo could hold a feeling- made me never want to put it down.
Now I'm based in Washington, DC, photographing weddings and engagements across the DMV and beyond. My approach is documentary at its core: I'm drawn to the in-between moments, the ones that happen when nobody's performing for the camera. The laugh right before the kiss. The way your person looks at you when you don't notice. That's what I'm after.
I shoot on both digital and film, and I believe the best wedding photos feel less like portraits and more like memories you can hold.
